(This trail starts on a plateau surrounded by mountains lying just West of Tucson)
(At some point we mistook this arroyo for a trail which cost us at least 45 minutes)
(Wasson peak is now straight ahead)
(once we reached the ridge, Tucson came into view in the East)
(the mountains in the distance harbor Sabino canyon - our next hike)
(the Southern view revealed Mt Wrightson - our last hike - the sharp peak far on the horizon)
(this is a view from the peak to the North)
(despite the loss of time in the arroyo, we reached the peak some 30 minutes before sunset)
(as we descended I retook some of the shots in an increasingly reddish glow of the setting sun)
(this is the sunset red bath at its extreme)
(mysterious water pools in the distance reflected the remnants of light)
(when we reached the parking lot, it was almost dark, except for a faint lick of light in the West)
