Sentinel Pass
(a hike through the Sentinel Pass and onto the Paradise Valley)
sentinel pass straight ahead
the final climb into the pass through a series of switchbacks
a view back into the valley from which we came
people resting in the pass - most return to moraine lake the same way
a peek into the paradise valley on the other side of the pass
the descent through the other side is pretty rocky and the trail is barely visible
on occasion you have to traverse a snow bank
paradise valley is pretty green and idyllic...
... except for this one rocky patch.
since barely anybody ventures on this side of the pass, you can have lake annette for yourself
about a mile from the lake we ran into a local porcupine
this is the paradise creek which led us to the road back to moraine lake
