Alenka's Wedding (Hradec Kralove, September 2006)

A quick snack before the ceremony at my sister's house.

Adorning the caravan of cars with ribbons.

There she is!

The ceremony was held in a chapel of a little castle not far from Hradec.

A bench in the chapel, reserved for the closest relatives.

Enter Bride.

The moment of truth.

Rice showers in the forecast.

Sibling chivalry.

Bride's Maidens.

The newlyweds in the castle's backyard.

Beauty and the Beast.

Where is Waldo?

A quick lunch on a terrace of a restaurant in Hradec.

A speech by the Father of the Bride.

A groom finds out that certain intangibles were lost.
(Dude, where is my freedom?)

The epitomy of the Czech cuisine - dumplings.
(neatly drowning in what is known as "the candle sauce")

One of the Czech traditions: sawing a log together.
(to test how well can the newlyweds cooperate)

A tanning saloon for assorted fowl.

A reception table before the arrival of locusts.

Having a merry time.

An improvised soccer game between Czechs and Slovaks had some emotional moments.

Another Czech tradition: The Bride returning from being "kidnapped".

The newlyweds admiring the wedding gifts.

Some gifts presents posed a mechanical challenge (fussball)

At the end, this one was a crowd pleaser though.

The official dancing floor.

The Bride soon found an alternative floor, where she strummed her air-guitar.

But it was the Father of the Bride who showed a true rock'n'roll grit.

Soon the dancing crowed moved to the new venue entirely.

Moral of the story:
Kids, don't try to shoot the Moon when inebriated.
