Towns (southwest)

the towns in the southwest of Martinique

This is essentially a trip around the southwestern peninsula of Martinique.

Diamond

This is the base town for a hike to Morne Larcher (which you see in the first picture).

This is a memorial underneath Morne Larcher dedicated to the victims of slave trade.

This is the Diamond Rock with some interesting history in its portfolio.

Les Anses d'Arlet

Pointe du Bout

This is a small town at the northern tip of the peninsula.
It features a number of luxury resorts and hotels.

A short walk past the above Marina you will run into this interesting undeveloped peninsula.

Not only you can get a nice view of Fort de France (with Pitons above it if you are lucky)...

...but also find lots of ruins of abandoned buildings.
Quite a mystery considering how expensive this land must be.

But we just waited for the sunset...

...and then returned to the darkening town.

Trois Ilets

Since we did not catch this town on our original trip around the peninsula
we made this last stop on our way to the airport on the last day.
