We parked our car at the end of paved road, so we had to take a mile long hike to get to the ruins.
Chateau Du Buc used to be a large farming settlement with sugar cane plantations.
This is a view towards a lighthouse that was our next stop.
This is a view of the lighthouse from a small peninsula underneath the ruins.
But first we took a short hike...
...through wetlands covered with mangrove.
This is the hill with the lighthouse again.
This is still the local hike through the mangroves.
And this is the main trail from Du Buc to the lighthouse.
This is the lighthouse.
The view of the eastern tip of the Caravelle peninsula.
Our next stop was the meteorological station on the far end.
But as it was closed, we ended up exploring the bay to the right of it.
The trail to the station.
This is the interior of that delightfully green forest - in case you are wondering...
And this is the abovementioned bay - next stop the peninsula on the right.
The view from the peninsula across the bay...
...and the view alongside the rocky coast.
