Our Bahrain tour started in the Cultural Center area...
...which was adjacent to the Al Fateh mosque...
...that became our first stop.
This time we could enter...
...and see it from the inside.
In the background you can see Mihrab - a decorative niche directed toward Mecca.
This is one of the side aisles.
From there we drove to the city museum...
...with displays of school life...
...business life...
...and life in general.
As we left the museum, the visibility had significantly worsened...
...and we witnessed a little dust storm.
Fortunately our next stop was a Mall...
...with the usual display of completely impractical goods...
...and some interesting local architecture.
For a bit of authenticity I took a short walk into the neighborhood.
Our final stop was Al Jasrah house...
...very simple, almost austere, but adorned with classical Arabic elements.
On our way back to the bus...
...we walked through a residential neighborhood...
...dotted with street shops.
Thanks to an impressive causeway, you can now drive from Bahrain to Saudi Arabia.
